Tony is the Executive Director of Sabre Education. He is an experienced social and community development worker, trainer, researcher, manager, consultant and workshop facilitator /moderator. He has worked with government, non-government and private sector institutions in various areas of human development endeavour. For nearly nine years he was the Executive Director of one of the leading Ghanaian NGOs, Centre for the Development of People (CEDEP) and thereafter served on its Board from 2000 to 2009. From 2000-2004, he was on VSO’s Board of Trustees in the U.K.
The Board of Directors is the key decision-making body of T-TEL organisation and ensures the implementation of decisions and resolutions made at the annual general meeting. The Board provides strategic direction to, and oversight of the Executive Team of T-TEL (the Secretariat) and has a clear remit to focus on the operations of T-TEL as an organisation. It acts as the bridge between the Subscribers and the Secretariat and meets on a quarterly basis. There are currently eight full Board members – six members (including the Chair) are from the Subscribers whilst two additional members have been nominated by the Ministry of Education. Board meetings are also attended by the Executive Director, a Ministry of Education representative and the Company Secretary whom do not have voting rights.

Jophus Anamuah-Mensah
Professor Jophus Anamuah-Mensah is the Board Chair of T-TEL. He is also the Key Adviser for Curriculum Reform, and the Executive Chair of the Teacher Education in Sub-Saharan Africa (TESSA), a programme that has produced free study units for improving classroom practice across thirteen different countries. Prof. Anamuah-Mensah was the Director of School and Community Science and Technology Studies and now Director of the Institute for Educational Research and Innovation Studies at the University of Education, Winneba. He is the Chairman of Open Learning Exchange, an organisation dedicated to improving the quality of learning in Ghanaian schools through the use of technology and especially, the creation of an open digital education library accessible online and offline. He was also the Pro-Vice-Chancellor of the University of Cape Coast (UCC) and for nine years Prof. Anamuah-Mensah was the Principal and Vice-Chancellor of University of Education Winneba (UEW), the first university in Africa dedicated to teacher education.

Michael is the Director-General of the Institute of Educational Planning and Administration (IEPA) at the University of Cape Coast. IEPA is a UNESCO Category II Institute which is expected to build the capacity of the education workforce in the West African sub-region in the areas of Educational Planning, Leadership and Administration as well as mobilising international and regional experts to provide technical assistance and policy advice to support sector-wide planning and policy development. Michael is a highly experienced researcher and administrator with a PhD in Higher Education and Student Affairs from Ohio University in the USA.

Robin Todd is T-TEL’s Executive Director, responsible for strategic direction and ensuring that the organisation provides high–quality technical assistance to the Government of Ghana. Robin is a public policy, education and international development professional with a wide breadth of skills and experience ranging from community-level implementation to national policy and planning. Twenty years of experience includes fifteen years working in education, social development and public service delivery positions in Africa and four and a half years’ developing and implementing policy on education and skills at senior levels within the British Government. Robin has led technical assistance assignments for a range of agencies including FCDO, World Bank, UNESCO, ILO, EU, GiZ, ADB, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and the Education Commission in Ghana, Nigeria, Malawi, Egypt, Tanzania, South Sudan, Uganda, Sierra Leone, Mozambique, The Philippines, Nepal, St Lucia and St Vincent & the Grenadines. From 2009 to 2010 he worked under Gordon Brown in the UK Prime Minister’s Delivery Unit and has subsequently advised Ministries of Education in Tanzania, Uganda, Sierra Leone and Ghana on applying the ‘delivery approach’ to improve education systems. Robin first came to Ghana from 2000 to 2002 where he worked as an English Teacher in a Senior High School in the Northern Region. He returned to Ghana in 2017 to support the Ministry of Education on teacher education reforms and considers it a privilege to be appointed as the first Executive Director of T-TEL.

Akwasi Addae-Boahene is a strategic management, education policy and reform expert, with strong experience in the design and management of education programs. He has 26 years of direct management experience implementing successful programs in education and policy reform with the Government of Ghana and 23 years’ experience working with International Development Organisations. Mr. Akwasi Addae-Boahene is currently the Chief Technical Adviser at the Ministry of Education’s Secretariat for Education Policy, Institutional and Curriculum reform. Before taking up his current role at the Ministry, Mr. Addae-Boahene was the Chief Technical Adviser and National Programme Manager of the FCDO funded Transforming Teacher Education and Learning (T-TEL) in Ghana implemented by Cambridge Education. From 2013 to 2014, he was the Executive Director of Associates for Development Partnerships and was the Country Director of World University Service of Canada (WUSC) in Ghana from 2004 to 2013. As Country Director for WUSC, he was responsible for a portfolio of education and community development projects implemented in Ghana, with funding from USAID, CIDA and others. In addition, Mr. Addae-Boahene was the Chief of Party for the Ghana Education Decentralization Project (GEDP) funded by USAID and implemented by WUSC in collaboration with Ghana’s Ministry of Education from 2010 to 2012, and Project Director for the Bibiani Anhwiaso Bekwai District Development Project. He was briefly the Director for Field Operations for the SHAPE Project implemented by World Education based in Boston, USA and funded by USAID/Ghana in 2004, and the Associate Director for Field Activities of the Community School Alliances (CSA) Project, a component of the USAID funded Quality Improvement in Primary Schools (QUIPS) Program in Ghana from 1998 to December 2003.

Jonathan Fletcher
Professor Jonathan Fletcher is the Key Advisor for Teaching and Learning Partnerships. He is a specialist mathematics educator, teacher trainer and assessment consultant. He holds a BSc (Hons) in Financial Mathematics (Valuations) from the University of Reading, MSc (Numeracy) from the London South Bank University, MA (Education) and PhD (Mathematics Education) from the University of London and Certificate in Coaching from the Oxford Brooke’s University, all in the United Kingdom. He is a Distinguished Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Leadership and Governance (CILG), Chair of the Ghana Chapter of CILG and a member of the Technical Committee of the Ghana Teacher Task Force.
Professor Fletcher has taught mathematics and education in British and Ghanaian universities and is a former head of Post Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) Mathematics at University College London, University of London and a former Deputy Director of the Institute of Education at the University of Cape Coast. Professor Jonathan Fletcher is the current Dean of the School of Education and Leadership at the University of Ghana and a Council Member of the World Education Research Association. He has published extensively, and his publications include books on mathematics as well as studies on teaching and learning of mathematics, assessment in education, teacher professional development and teacher performance appraisal.

Dr. Sam Awuku is the Key Advisor for Leadership for Learning and Institutional Development. He worked as an Education and Development Consultant who supported the T-TEL programme as the Key Adviser for the Policy, Leadership, Institutional Development and Communications workstream. Sam’s work at T-TEL has brought about a huge transformation in how Ghanaian Colleges of Education are led and governed. Through a comprehensive strategy and cutting-edge college improvement coaching and leadership professional development, Colleges of Education can now boast of robust institutional strengthening systems. Regulatory bodies such as the National Accreditation Board, National Council for Tertiary Education, National Teaching Council, National Inspectorate Board and the National Council for Curriculum and Assessment have all benefited from Sam’s technical support through T-TEL.
An alumnus of the UCL Institute of Education, UK with a Ph.D., Dr. Sam Awuku’s areas of expertise are: education technology and development policies, organisational development, quality assurance in education, inclusive education, curriculum development, mathematics education, leadership and governance of NGOs and public engagement. During the COVID-19 school closures, Sam led the Virtual Learning Taskforce set up by NCTE and T-TEL to provide Emergency Remote Teaching and Learning in all 46 Colleges of Education. This initiative has enabled over 85% of student teachers to receive remote teaching during the second semester of the 2019/20 school year.

Bea Noble Rogers is an educationalist with extensive experience having worked at a national level with initial teacher trainers (ITT), local authorities (LAs) and schools. The most significant feature her work is the ability to conceive and negotiate highly effective solutions to secure educational development and the constructive interpretation and implementation of National priorities. Key areas of work have been: developing training for literacy and phonics in ITT, improving and increasing the roles of school in ITT partnerships and evaluating and supporting high quality practice in ITT. Working directly with ITT providers through: consultation, the development of materials and the evaluation and review of performance has provided Bea with an outstanding opportunity to learn about the principles, and to influence the practices, of outstanding teacher education.

Eric Ananga
Dr. Eric Ananga is an experienced researcher and educationalist, specializing in international education and development and the designing and conducting of both quantitative and qualitative research. He is a senior lecturer at the University of Education, Winneba, Ghana. He also has substantial experience in developing educational policy. Dr. Ananga helped to conduct a national situational analysis of Ghana’s Education Sector, The State of Teacher Education and Early Childhood Education and led the development of Ghana’s Education Strategic Plan 2018-2030, Teacher Education Reform Policy, National Teachers Standards and National Teacher Education Curriculum Framework and Ghana’s first Early Childhood Education policy, the costed implementation plan, implementation guideline, and the policy’s monitoring, evaluation and learning framework among others. He possesses a strong working knowledge of education systems and system reform and transformation and has been involved in conducting the annual performance evaluation of all the agencies of Ghana’s Ministry of Education. Dr. Eric Ananga has a Bachelor of Education in Social Studies Education from the University of Education Winneba, Ghana, a Master of Science in Development Planning and Management Studies from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Ghana and the University of Dortmund, Germany. Noshie Iddisah is the Operations Director at T-TEL. She is a Grants Professional with over eighteen years’ experience working on large scale development projects in Ghana and project management experience. She has demonstrated expertise and understanding of the establishment and implementation of grant management systems. She has worked for donor funded projects, with the responsibility of the overall disbursement and management of grants and fiduciary risks; grant selection processes, the grants cycle process and making recommendations for grant awards on the project, budgeting, and reporting. She has also led in the design and organization of capacity building training programmes on policy advocacy, monitoring and evaluation, gender equality and social inclusion, financial management, amongst others, for colleges of education, civil society organisations, community-based organisations and parliamentary select committees. Imbedded in this was developing and implementing procurement of services and strategies adapted to the needs of stakeholders within the scope of programmes. She has in-depth knowledge and experience of DFID and the wider international development assistance systems and has managed development projects, administering, managing, and disbursing grants for the Government of Ghana aimed at institutional reform of the forest sector in Ghana. She also has experience in sourcing, distribution, and compliance.

Beryl Opong-Agyei is T-TEL’s National Teacher Education Coordinator. She holds an MBA in Project Management, from Wisconsin International University College Ghana and a bachelor’s degree in Social Studies Education from the University of Cape Coast. Her career dates back to 2001 and has mainly been in donor funded education projects. She has worked in various capacities under different projects including the Community School Alliances (CSA) and the Education Quality for All (EQUALL), both USAID funded. She also worked with World University Service of Canada (WUSC), a Canadian funded project and Scope Global’s Australian Volunteers for International Development (AVID). Her main areas of specialization are Educational Training which includes capacity building training for teachers, community mobilization, volunteer and program management. Beryl is good at dealing with people; especially in explaining things and getting them to learn and understand issues.

Bernice Bangfu is the T-TEL Coordinator with responsibility for Quality Assurance and Regulatory Bodies. Bernice is a trained Communications professional with experience working as Coordinator for Policy, Leadership, Institutional Development and Communications on the 6-year T-TEL programme funded by FCDO. She has a history of working in the Media, Mining and Business Consultancy Industries in various communications related capacities. She is skilled in running Non-profit Organizations and has considerable experience working on donor funded programmes. Bernice holds a master’s degree in communications studies from the University of Ghana. She has a strong ability to engage stakeholders at various levels and build meaningful relationships for the accomplishment of organisational objectives.

Alberta Tackie is T-TEL’s Curriculum Development, Teaching and Learning Coordinator. She is an education and development professional with a varied range of skills and experience in providing quality and timely support to national institutions and programme management processes. She has over thirteen years’ experience working in the Ghanaian education sector. Over three years providing institutional-level support to colleges of education in Ghana; a year working with National Council for Curriculum and Assessment (NaCCA) to roll-out a new pre-tertiary curriculum: and nine years working to develop and strengthen educational research at the tertiary level with National Council for Tertiary Education (NCTE).
She also has experience in producing concise and informative reports for donor agencies and charities such as the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO), Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and World Bank. Alberta holds a Master’s and Bachelor’s Degree in Development Studies and Geography and Resource Development from the University of Ghana respectively.

Marjorie Naa Afi Tackie is a Gender Equality and Social Inclusion (GESI) Coordinator at Transforming Senior High School Education, Teaching & Learning. She holds a first degree in Geography and Resource Development and a Master’s of Arts, Migration Studies, both degrees from the University of Ghana. Her experience working in academia and international development as an education researcher which inspired her to join the Transforming Teacher Education and Learning (T-TEL) programme in March 2017. She has strong expertise in GESI analyses and audits, GESI mainstreaming and results-based management. As part of the T-TEL programme team, she supported the development of the Gender responsive rubric scorecard which was used to assess and measure the degree of implementation of gender responsive strategies in Colleges of Education (CoEs) in Ghana. Marjorie was involved in the development and roll-out of the Gender Handbook for Teaching Practice Schools across the country. Her work with national education stakeholders like the National Council for Tertiary Education (NCTE) contributed to the development and implementation of responsive policies like the Gender in Education and Sexual Harassment Policy Guidelines for tertiary institutions. Her role was also pivotal in the performance, completion and validation of the grants-based Gender Responsive Improvement Plans (GRIPs) which boosted CoEs efforts to become GESI responsive.

Angela Affran works at T-TEL as the Technical Advisor to the Ministry of Education. She served as the Regional Director for Perkins International in the African Region, coordinating and managing projects, training teachers to serve learners with disabilities and special needs, advocating for the rights of children with visual impairment and additional disabilities, and supporting parents to advocate for their children.
She also worked as an Inclusive Education consultant with Inclusive Development Partners (IDP), USA and UNICEF in Ghana to conduct a formative research and to provide technical guidance on identification and support to children with disabilities in the early grades in both Ghana and Tanzania on Vision. She is also serving as a consultant for Ashesi University on the Disability Programming under the Mastercard Foundation Scholars Programme-Phase 3.
She was previously the coordinator for Braille Literacy, Math and Science at the Special Education Division of the Ghana Education Service. She has a Master’s Degree from Teachers College, Columbia University, a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Education, Ghana and a Diploma in Statistics from the University of Ghana. Angela also has a certificate in Action Research and citizen led change from the Coady Institute, St. Francis Xavier University, Antigonish, Nova Scotia. She is was a recipient of the Ford Foundation Scholarship, Wolfensohn Family Foundation Scholarship and was adjudged the best teacher in Math and Science category at the Akuapem North District in 2005.
She has worked in various countries and successfully implemented various projects with USAID, UNICEF, RTI, SIB and Brien Holden Vision Institute (BHVI) in Ghana, Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Malawi, Lesotho, South Africa and Nigeria. She is the Co-Founder of Scaleup Future, a member of the Early Childhood Network in Ghana, the Greater Accra Regional Chairperson for the Ghana National Education Campaign Coalition, a member of the National Inclusive Education Steering Committee and the president of the Ford Foundation International Fellowships Program Alumni Association of Ghana (IFPAAG).

Issahaku Abudulai the University Coordinator for KNUST. He is a professional teacher by training and holds BEd. Degree in English Education and a Master of Arts Degree in NGO Management and Rural Development. He has 10 years classroom teaching experience spanning JHS, SHS through to the College of Education. He also has over 16 years’ experience working with varied teams to implement Education programs in Ghana. Over the years, he has worked in these teams that have implemented complementary education programs: functional literacy, wings school concept and others. He also has some experience in using technology to support teaching in the classroom and adopting innovative ways to improve Early Childhood Education. Contributing immensely to the transformation of teacher education in Ghana, he has extensive knowledge of the National Teachers’ Standards of Ghana. Issahaku has strong competencies in the areas of teacher professional development, coaching and mentoring of teachers, designing teacher capacity building workshops, building strategic partnerships and coalitions. He has a good knowledge of curriculum development. Issahaku is reliable and able to facilitate the development of team-owned workplans, implement and report in accordance with agreed formats and deadlines.

James has worked at Tamale, in the northern zonal office as Education Advisor supporting ten Colleges of Education. He worked briefly in the Regional Education Directorate as a Regional Coordinator for Special Education in the then Brong Ahafo region. James has over 25 years teaching experience, spanning across the various levels of the educational system in Ghana. He has over a decade experience in the Colleges of Education, teaching regular, sandwich and distance education students at diploma and post-diploma levels. He has contributed immensely to the writing and facilitation of teaching practice handbooks, Supported Teaching in School (STS), Professional Development (PD) materials, National Teachers` Standards (NTS), and the National Teacher Education Assessment Policy (NTEAP). James impacted greatly while in St. Joseph’s college when he coordinated College Improvement Planning, Challenge Fund Project, Payment by Results, Teaching Practice and Professional Development Sessions. Peter Chammik is the Coordinator for T-TEL programs in the University for Development Studies, Tamale. He has considerable experience in the education sector, both public and private. He was a tutor at the Tamale College of Education from 1990 to 2000. Between 2000 and 2009, he worked with Catholic Relief Services(CRS) where, as Senior Program Officer, he supervised USAID/UNICEF-funded programs in Education. From 2009 to 2012, he managed CRS’ Office in Wa, where he coordinated education and health programs implemented by a consortium of CRS, Care International, International Union for the Conservation of Nature and other partners. Prior to joining T-TEL in September 2015, Peter worked at IBIS Ghana, (now OXFAM) as Education Management Specialist. Peter has great interest in teacher education and advocacy, especially for increasing access to quality education for girls, minorities, and other vulnerable populations in rural and deprived communities as well as environmental sustainability.

With over 23 years working experience in development work, Paul has worked with 4 reputable International NGOs: Global Communities as a Capacity Building and Training Specialist on the Mastercard Foundation funded YIEDIE Project, World Vision Ghana as Area Development Programme (ADP) / Cluster Manager, Christian Children’s Fund of Canada as a Programme Manager, PLAN Ghana as a Community Facilitator / Community Development Coordinator, and Youth Development Foundation (local NGO) as a Project Coordinator.
